Business Standard Visitor
Find out how long you can stay with your visa.
How long does a business visa last in the UK?
Normally you will be able to stay in the UK for up to 6 months. But you might be able to stay longer:
- If you’re travelling to the UK for private medical treatment, you can stay for up to 11 months.
- If you’re an academic travelling to the UK for research purposes, you and your partner may be able to stay for up to 12 months.
There is an increased fee of £200 in both of these circumstances. You’ll also need to have your photo taken and your fingerprints scanned to apply for a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). A BRP is essentially a small card that holds your personal details and information about your stay in the UK. Employers might ask to see it as part of their right to work checks.
