What can I do in the UK on a Health and Care Worker visa?

  • be able to work (providing your job is eligible)
  • study
  • have your family travel and stay with you (they may also be known as your ‘dependants’). If they’re planning to join you, you’ll need to check that they’re also eligible.
  • carry out additional work in certain circumstances
  • carry out voluntary work
  • travel to other countries and return back to the UK
  • apply to make the UK your permanent home (don’t forget, you’re only able to do this if you’ve lived in the UK for 5+ years and meet the additional eligibility requirements).

What can’t I do in the UK on a Health and Care Worker visa?
