Young Traveller Working Holiday Visa

Tourist Short Stay Visa

How do I apply for a young traveller (working holiday) tourist visa for France?

You can apply online for your working holiday visa. To do this, you’ll need to have these things available:

  • Your passport
  • Both the original and photocopies of any supporting documents
  • 2 photos in ISO/IEC format

Or you can print and use a paper form from here.

Usually, visa applications for France follow these 5 easy steps:

Step 1 - Do your research

You’re already well on your way to completing Step 1 of the process, just by being on this page. Take the time to go through these pages and make sure you apply for the right visa. Or you can use the visa wizard!

Step 2 - Start your online application

Now that you know which visa you’re applying for, you can start the online application. You’ll need the documents mentioned above to finish the application. At the end of the process, it will be time to pay the visa application fees.

Step 3 - Book your appointment

Set up an appointment with your visa application centre and attend it with any of your supporting documents. Be sure to apply for your young traveller visa far ahead of your visit, to make sure you have enough time.

Top tip: Check the average appointment wait times in your country so you can be sure your appointment will come in time for you to get your visa.

Step 4 - Submit your application

The hard part is now over and everything is ready. Now all you need to do is show up to your appointment and be ready to provide your biometric information (usually having your fingerprints scanned). Make sure you’ve got all of your documents and have paid the fees. Once you’ve done that, your visa is officially submitted.

Step 5 - Track your visa

Your visa will get monitored through the visa application centre that you applied through. They’ll let you know when your passport is ready to pick up. Visa processing typically takes between 15 and 45 days.
