What supporting documents will I need? 

To apply for a student visa for Portugal, you need to provide the following documents:

• Valid passport: Your current passport or travel document.
• Letter of acceptance: From your Portuguese university.
• Proof of tuition payment: Evidence that you’ve paid your tuition fees or a document confirming your scholarship.
• Recent passport photos: Two passport-sized photos that meet Portugal’s photo requirements.
• Visa application form: Completed form, usually provided by the embassy.
• Financial proof: Documents showing you have sufficient funds, such as bank statements, scholarship details, or proof of financial support.
• Accommodation proof: Evidence of where you’ll stay in Portugal, like a rental agreement, university dorm assignment, or an invitation letter from a family member or friend.
• Criminal record certificate: A certificate confirming your criminal record status.
• Travel health insurance: Proof of Schengen travel health insurance, plus you’ll need to get additional health insurance from a private company once in Portugal.
