A useful list of what documents you'll need during your visa application.

What supporting documents will I need for this visa?

You’ll need some specific documents when you’re applying for a German Airport Transit Visa. Make sure you have each of these documents ready. 

  • The completed visa application form (in English or German only), as well as declarations duly signed.
  • 2 passport photographs.
  • A passport that’ll be valid for at least 3 more months after your journey through Germany. Double check that your passport isn’t more than 10 years old or damaged, and that it has a blank page for your visa sticker.
  • An A4-size copy of your passport’s data page.
  • The confirmed airline ticket for your final destination, along with a copy of this.
  • Declaration of accuracy.
  • A copy of the valid visa/residence permit for your final destination, if you need one.
  • Your driving licence and/or a utility bill in your name, to show proof of residence.

As well as these, you’ll need some documents that are specific to your individual situation. 

If you’re employed...

If you’re employed, you’ll need a letter from your employer. It’ll need to be the original letter signed with blue ink, and it should confirm:

  • your employment
  • the beginning of your employment
  • your monthly salary
  • the beginning of vacation and resumption of work
