What supporting documents will I need to show when applying for a business visa?
You’ll be asked to show a number of documents during the business visa application process, including:
- 2 x fully completed application forms (1 x printed and 1 x signed).
- 2 x passport photographs
- A valid national passport
- Proof of residence. This could be your driver’s license and/or utility bill in your name.
- Health insurance - Your employer will need to provide a compulsory certificate that is valid from your date of employment.
- If not already included in the compulsory health insurance, separate travel insurance will need to be provided from the date you arrive in Germany, until the beginning of your employment.
- An employment contract that includes details of gross annual salary and a detailed description of your employment in Germany.
- Approval by the Federal Employment Agency (if applicable).
- Curriculum Vitae - You could be asked to show your updated CV, which indicates your academic qualifications and your job experience.
- Proof of qualification - This could include diplomas, certificates, mark sheets etc., or anything similar that proves your qualifications.
- A personal cover letter explaining why you’re working in Germany and how long you intend to stay.
- Proof of a clean criminal record.
- Confirmation that you have paid the visa fee.
- Declaration of Accuracy Information.
