Business Visa
Planning a trip to Belgium for work? We’ll guide you through the process of how to get a business visa or permit.
Do I need a business travel visa to work in Belgium?
Non-European citizens can apply for a work permit or single permit if they’re working as employees, while self-employed people could apply for a professional card.
If you’re a third-country national with a work permit or single permit, you’ll need to get permission to stay in Belgium for more than 90 days. There are a couple of ways you can do this:
- If you’re currently living abroad, you can apply for a D visa (which is also known as a national long-stay visa).
- If you’re applying from inside Belgium, you can apply for a residence permit.
Generally, any third-country nationals that want to work in Belgium for more than 90 days, will need to apply for a work permit through their employer. Applying for a work permit is equivalent to a residence permit (single permit). Once approved, you can stay in Belgium to work for more than 90 days.
